Lorin Scott was born and raised in Mandeville, Louisiana. She graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University New Orleans with a degree in Political Science in 2015. She then earned her Juris Doctorate from Tulane University School of Law in 2019, graduating cum laude.
As a Louisiana native and lifelong resident, Lorin’s practice focuses on serving companies and industries that rely on the Mississippi River and Gulf of Mexico for their livelihood. She represents clients in a broad range of maritime disputes, including allisions and collisions and claims under General Maritime Law, the Jones Act, the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act, the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, and the Defense Base Act. Lorin has first-hand experience conducting shipboard investigations for vessel collisions, personal injury, and cargo damage. Her diverse practice also includes litigation arising from environmental incidents, personal injuries, maritime liens, carriage of goods, and maritime contract disputes.
Lorin has served as trial attorney in numerous bench and jury trials in both federal and state court. She has also handled multiple appeals to Louisiana appellate courts, the Louisiana Supreme Court, and the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
